WHAT ARE DENTAL SEALANTS?

Dental sealants are a thin coating of plastic that is applied to the chewing surface of the tooth. This sealant blocks debris from getting trapped in the grooves and crevices of the teeth. Children are much more prone to cavities and this is a preventative measure that can help save your child from pain and you from costly procedures down the road.
Dental sealants cannot be seen and when combined with good oral care at home and six month dental check-ups, tooth decay has a hard time setting in.
